My name is Matthew Flynn, I started Top Gun Builders to design and build the finest custom homes in the US.

I began my construction career in Coronado, CA at Chapman Construction apprenticing under Bobby Chapman. Quickly learning carpentry and site management I helped to remodel and build many homes throughout the island along with a larger commercial brewhouse project at the Coronado Brewing Company shortly before Bobby retired from the building industry. I was hired by KD Construction first as an apprentice carpenter then moving to a supervisory position. We undertook a great many challenging and fun renovations in which I personally learned an incredible amount of hands-on restoration and preservation carpentry techniques, along with general project management and critical path methodologies.

Moving to Utah in 2012 I immediately found work as a pipelayer for Kapp Construction before quickly becoming a renovation carpenter for Bill Brechbill at PCR/Classic Remodeling in Ogden. I had the opportunity to supervise and personally work hands-on many small renovation projects all over the Ogden and Salt Lake area, including some unusual and fun work with Hawkwatch Intl, and a cutting-edge ground up custom home in the Ogden valley featuring many sustainable and environmentally conscious methods and technologies utilized throughout.

Working indoors for a bit I was very lucky to study under Greg Mathews and Mark Watts at Automated Structures first as a truss designer and then as design manager. While there I learned an incredible amount about the deeper design elements of modern structures; and much, much more. I am so grateful for all of the opportunities and knowledge the people named here and so many others blessed me with.

I was well-armed with all of this acquired knowledge when I set out and established Top Gun in 2017; to facilitate the finest in custom home design and construction services.
